Families and Community First Griswold (FCFG) is pleased to share the announcement of the award of a William Casper Graustein Memorial Fund Equity Learning Partnership grant. FCFG will be contracting with Dr. Terrlyn Avery Curry of Sacred Intelligence LLC to provide Equity Learning Training to our collaborative members. Adam Bowles, creator of One Square Mile, a community-building initiative profiling the lives of people in Jewett City and the chairperson of the collaborative’s Equity and Social Justice subcommittee, will be working with Dr. Terrlyn Avery Curry to provide an interactive Anti-Racism/Oppression training called Sankofa: Moving from Our History to Healing. This will help enable our members to understand the impact of racism and poverty. Through this learning training, we hope to gain a better understanding of the underlying tensions and challenges that are faced by marginalized individuals and families within our Griswold community so we can better promote equity for all. Members of our community that are interested in committing to be a part of this work and become members of the Families and Community First Griswold Collaborative are asked to contact Bridget Kinnie at FCFGriswold@gmail.com or (860) 639-1800 for additional information or to sign-up.
